Windsurfing: Aberdyfi
Wind Direction: sw
Wind Stength: 30
Surf / Sea State: flat,chop,surf!!!

Sea Temperature:
Weather: cloudy with sunny periods
Max Speed: 26.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered:

Wed dawned to 30mph winds which seemed to end my chances of windsurfing as the smallest sail I had with me was 6.6!!! but on the way to Aberdyfi we saw a kite up at the Lagoon so after breakfast in the harbour carpark headed back and parked by the Trefeddian Hotel. We headed across the golf course to find Shem having a great time out on the water with a BBC film crew there trying to film a young lady having a kite lesson, but it was far to windy!!! We introduced ourselves to Shem and another couple of great lads-Joe and another Rob from Shropshire. So I bcame kite caddy for a few hours as my son Rob got going with his 9m Waroo and looked to be having a great time in the flatter water near the beach,Mag found a shettered spot in the dunes to read her book while I did my other hobby-taking afew photo's(there was another lad on the beach in the afternoon with a large lense camera taking pics of the kiters and would like to contact him to see if he has any pics of Rob,he has a bright green kite with a flying fish on it).
The draw of the sea became too much so at 4 I left Rob and got Mag to drop me at the harbour where I rigged the 6.6 (which I down hauled within an inch of it's life)and went out in the river mouth. It was very hairy as I had about 2m too much sail and the xantos was abit on the large side in the 30 mph winds !!!I had loads of runs on a 1/3rd of a mile strip across the river,I even managed 6 consecutive gybes without falling in !!! I came ashore after a couple of hours knackered having lost my glasses(should have put contacts in) and a very swollen toe !!!
Fish and chips in the van,Rob watches the football with Joe and Rob - great day !!!
Thursday - 30 mph miles but heavy rain,go to Fairbourne but it's too wet to get of the van,get puncture !!! Decide at 7pm to come home as forecast looks bad, arrive home 1.30 in the morning-we will be back it's a lovelly place !!!
